Sea Sprite Association

Ahoy Captains,

This classic boat has graced the waters locally since 1958, and the fleet is alive today. As you can see, we have started a Sea Sprite Association but participation has been somewhat spotty in recent years. We currently have about 180 members (not all local or active) and are looking to find the remaining 23' Sea Sprites as well the 28', 30' & 34' that are now still sailing locally in Narragansett Bay and have spread throughout the country.

We have been putting on four races per month on Narragansett Bay and one rendezvous per season, along with a few social events and regattas, such as an awards dinner (usually in the winter when things quiet down) and a planning meeting in spring for the upcoming year. We're working on publishing a newsletter, Soundings, for the membership during the year, as well as an updated membership list in the spring. To help strengthen the fleet, we have put a new web site together at Seasprites.com.

We have a great resource from which to pull from (see the Forums). Some of these skippers have owned their boats for 20+ years and would be happy talk to you about any question you could have. Also, if you are looking for equipment or have something to sell, we are happy to put it the Classifieds section of the site. These are some of the benefits the Association, but the best part is the friendships that have been made.

Stay tuned as we are currently assesing a new association membership format to help support this site, events, and all the proud SS owners out there. Your help will be greatly appreciated in supporting our fleet.

Thank you,
Zackary King
